Fei Yu is a Los Angeles-based writer and director with a passion for visually compelling storytelling and innovative filmmaking.

Fei earned his BFA in Commercial Directing from the Beijing Film Academy before moving to Los Angeles to pursue an MFA in Film & TV Production at the USC School of Cinematic Arts.

During his final year at USC, Fei directed his first feature film, Jasper. Upon graduation, he helmed the Tiffany & Co. commercial Love is Here, starring actress Ni Ni, which garnered over 400 million views globally. His portfolio also includes directing 4 episodes of the talk show Behind the Spotlight and Decode Streetwear, a twelve-episode series featuring Su Mang, former editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar China.

Fei has also worked as a 1st Assistant Director on numerous projects, including a commercial featuring the late Kobe Bryant. In 2023, he worked as a cinematographer on CELINE’s Winter 2023 runway campaign. Since Fall 2024, Fei has expanded into directing for vertical-format series, showcasing his adaptability in emerging media formats.

Fei’s production experience includes notable collaborations on prestigious projects such as the Academy Award-nominated film Nocturnal Animals (2016), directed by Tom Ford; Kitty (2016), a Cannes-selected short directed by Chloë Sevigny; and Enter the Warriors Gate (2016), produced by Luc Besson.
